Wendy (also known as @mapsgirl) is a mom to two daughters, Rachel and Lauren. They are the inspiration of this blog.
This blog has grown from a personal journal to a family-oriented blog focusing on topics that are of importance to parents and their children.
Wendy attended ShesConnected 2012 in Toronto as an Ambassador for the Chicken Famers of Canada. She also attended SheConnected 2011 and BlissDomCanada 2010 and 2011.
Child passenger safety is a passion of Wendy’s. Since 2008, Wendy is a Child Passenter Safety Technician and has had the opportunity to work with several Ontario police services and EMS teams, as a car seat technician.
Writing her blog and volunteering in the community happens when she’s not working full time as a cartographer for a municipality.
Now she can’t do this alone — Craig, her amazing husband since 2002, would do anything for his family. Craig is the Senior Community Manager for Ford Canada. You can follow him at @FordCraigSilva or @bigdaddykreativ
Last, but definitely not least, is Dakota. She came to live with us in October 2002. She was only 4 months old, but spent most of those 4 months tied to a tree in someone’s backyard. She is 10 now and we can’t imagine life without her.
