she’s having a baby x 2

April 5, 2008 by Wendy S

(blog365: 95/365)

Today was a busy, busy day.

We headed to Niagara Falls for my SIL’s sister’s baby shower! She’s due the beginning of May…and she’s huge!!! I hope she delivers sooner than later. Tho she did say that everything is going really well and she’s enjoyed her pregnancy.

I miss being pregnant and it is one of the things I’ll miss the most. We’re not having any more children so I tried to hold on to every memory of my pregnancies.

Why is it that when you say “we’re only having two” and you have two girls, people insist on regurgitating the same question: “You’re not going to try for a boy?”

Um…NO!!! There’s no guaruntee and we only ever planned on having two. So there. No, stop asking.
But back to the shower….

I took Peanut with me. Everyone enjoyed her being there but I didn’t get to enjoy the shower as much as I would have liked. She didn’t nap and half way through was over-tired. She didn’t want to be held…she just wanted to run around. So I spent the afternoon chase a tired toddler to keep her out of the things she shouldn’t be touching.

By the time everything was done and cleaned up, we didn’t get home until 6pm. Peanut had fallen asleep in the car so I put her right to bed when we got to my mom’s house. She slept until 7pm. I gave her a bottle of milk and she went right back to sleep. She hadn’t eaten a proper dinner so I had no idea what to expect.
We all had pizza. Umm…Zappi’s!!

And then my brother’s best friend (and best man) and his wife came over to announce to my mom that they’re expecting a baby and she’s due in October. My brother and his friend have been friends since they were babies themselves.

By 9:30, Munchkin was in her pj’s and ready to go home. I had to wake up Peanut to change her into her pj’s and then we headed home.

It was nice to finally be home and get everyone settled into their beds.

What a great day!
