chatter box

July 28, 2008 by Wendy S

Peanut is talking up a storm these days!!

Just yesterday she said “pool”! Too cute!

Hubby and I had spent the day working on organizing the garage. We did some shopping in the morning and then while Peanut was napping we headed outside to work on the garage some more. Munchkin was invited swimming next door.

After we finished what we wanted to accomplish for the day (still a lot more to go), Hubby bee-lined it for the hot tub and I went next door to see how Munchkin was doing. She and Haley (our neighbours’ neice) had been playing in the pool for over an hour! Shortly after I sat down to relax, Peanut woke up from her 2 1/2 hour nap! (Yeah, Peanut!)

Peanut and I went swimming for a bit until she waned to get out to have ‘chips’ (one of her new words). After a bit she got up and started walking towards the pool (it’s above ground so she’d had have to climb the stairs up to the pool deck) and I asked her where she was going. She pointed and said “Pool!” It was too cute.

It got me thinking of all the words she says now:

Dada
Mommy (no more mama)
Racha (Munchkin’s name)
Koda (short for Dakota)
Hi
Bye bye
Night! Night!
Amen
ca-ca (cracker)
chips
cheese
ea (eat – while she signs ‘eat’)
baba (bottle)
bo (book)
A-done (all done – with sign for ‘finish’)
shoes
coes (clothes)
ca (car)
uh-oh (when she drops something)
up
pool
no

Wow!! That’s 22 words!! I’m sure there’s more…got think a bit more…

ETA: I knew there was more…

ha (hat)
ba (ball)
saw (sock)
peas (please)
ta-com (thank you…tho it does sound like “welcome”…who’s gonna pick on the mannors of a 16 month old. atlease she says something polite when you give her something!)
mo (more…again with the sign for ‘more’)

(we’re up to 28 now!)

Peanut’s volcabulary is much like her sister! Here’s Munchkin’s list of words at 15 months… http://mapsgirl.blogspot.com/2005/03/translator-please.html
