When we arrived home from our camping trip and most of the unpacking dust had settled, I started the somewhat daunting task of giong throught the mail. Luckily 90% of the stack was fliers and junk, but one peice caught my attention. It was adressed to “Brenda G or current occupant” (Brenda G is the previous owner of our house) and the return address was from Maytag.
Opened the envelope, read the letter…great…our dishwasher might be on the recall list. The first line of the letter stated that this was the 3rd notice. The previous owners had their mail redirected and I guess this has since expired and now we’re getting any mail for them where they hadn’t changed their address. So finally this recall notice has appeared at our house.
I have since called Maytag and yes, our dishwasher is in the list of affected appliacnces. This weekend we’ll be shopping for a new dishwasher. Maytag will then send us $75 to put towards a new dishwasher. I like the idea of having a more energy effiecient one but there are so many to choose from! I’d like to get one that is stainless steel inside but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
