winter + speed = collisions

December 11, 2008 by Wendy S

In the past few days, winter has arrived in Toronto.  This is not a surprise.

Why?

Because it’s December!!!!

For some reason, GTA drivers have this illusion that they can drive like they normally do even if there is ice and/or snow on the road.  Sorry to burst your bubble.

In the last few days. the traffic reports have been littered with collisions, roll-overs, cars in ditches, jack-knifed trucks and 2 major highways have been close multiple times.  This is ridiculous.

SLOW DOWN!!!

Here are the incidents that made the news:
401 Crash Causes Overhead Sign To Fall, Work Crews Forced To Remove It
Part Of Hwy. 404 Shut Down During Afternoon Rush

Highway 401 Reopens Following Major Pileup That Sent Three To Hospital
Overnight Snowfall Leaves Roads A Mess, Causes Dozens Of Crashes

Crazy.
