I’m proud to announce that Muchkin has passed her first session of swimming lessons – Preschool A !!
Last summer we spent lots of time in the neighbours pool and she became very comfortable in the water, but she always was wearing a PFD. I want her to be a good, strong swimmer.
As a former life guard and swimming instructor, I wasn’t sure what the expectations of the new levels are. And with this being Munckin’s first lessons since she was 6 months old, I decided to take the lessons with her.
I’m sure I pushed her harder than the other parents pushed their kids.
Her last lesson was the best of the 8. All of the skills they learned all had “with assistance” attached to it so she didn’t have to do anything by herself. We worked on front and back floats, kicking on her front and back, front and back glides, jumping into the water, blowing bubbles and putting her face in. Wednesday she put her face in! I was so proud.
Though, I think I might have been holding her back. Yes, I know I just said that I was pushing her, but I think she tended to cling to me because I was there. I’m hoping that if she was working with an instructor she’d be less clingy.
Starting at the end of March, she’ll be in Preschool B all by herself. She’s very excited!
Oh, and if you’ve found your way here from my good friend, Kia… Hello! Thanks for stopping by!
