she’s not looking back

March 22, 2009 by Wendy S

I’m not sure whether to jump up and down or curl up in a ball and cry.

My baby is upstairs sleeping in her big girl bed.

Yay!

I think….

Our neighbours daughter, who is 13, has wanted a bigger bed for a while. They went shopping today and got her a queen bed. We were offered her single bed for Lauren. We jumped at the offer.

Yesterday they brought over the bed and we put it in the living room until after Peanut’s nap.

After her nap, we took apart the crib *sniff* and moved the big girl bed upstairs. During her nap I had washed the bedding so it was ready to go.

Peanut was so excited! She wanted to go to bed right away!

We managed to get her to eat and take a quick shopping trip to Walmart. Our nieghbours had invited us over for drinks so we didn’t get home until pretty late.

Peanut didn’t even want to change into her PJs…just jumped right into bed. I finally convinced her to get her PJs on and we read some stories. And she went to sleep. Didn’t even get out of bed, just read her book and fell asleep.

Now we have a crib, in peices, in our living room *sniff* and a big girl napping in her big girl bed.
