Come home.
Get lots of hugs.
Empty Munchkin’s backpack. Read her agenda.

Jetsons in the year 2062 |
Empty lunch bag. Wash containers.
Put on comfy clothes.
Make dinner?
Ugh. That again?
This is the time when I wish was Judy Jetson and could just push a button and dinner would be made for me.
Fortunately for me, Swiss Chalet is 50 years a head of schedule!
As part of the EverythingMom.com Influencer Program, I was given a $50 e-gift card to use at Swiss Chalet. Last night was the perfect night to use it because no one was in the mood to cook.
I logged in to their website, chose to pick up my order (needed to gas up the van so might as well do it on the way to the restaurant) and then picked our entrée and deserts: coconut cream pie for BigDaddy, lemon meringue pie for Munchkin and pecan for me. Peanut very excitedly picked chocolate cake. We asked several times if she was sure that was what she wanted as she usually doesn’t eat chocolate cake. And we were done…so easy! *
We had placed our order at 5:28pm and our confirmation said that it would be ready at 5:58! 30 minutes! Gotta love that.
Once the food was home, it didn’t last long. The kids ate all their food, including their salad. The only issue we had was that everything is packaged in plastic bags. When you put hot food in plastic bags, it’s creates condensation. The buns and the fries were a bit soggy by the time I got everything home. Not enough to be not eaten, but definitely noticeable.
When it came time for desert, I gave Peanut her chocolate cake, she scrunched up her nose, and said “I don’t like chocolate!” Great.
Me: But that’s what you picked.
Pea: I don’t like chocolate.
Me: So why did you say you wanted it when we order the food.
Pea: I like vanilla ice cream.
Me: That wasn’t a choice when we were ordering.
Pea: I don’t like chocolate.
She ended up having the vanilla ice cream and I have a piece of chocolate cake for dinner tonight.
And there definitely will be a next time! Swiss Chalet’s online ordering is quick and easy (once I understood how to pay) and the food is yummy!

For us, it was so nice to sit as a family and have dinner together without all the stress of having to make it. We talked about our days at school, work and meetings. We try to eat all of our meals together but having a meal made for us took away the stress of preparation and clean up.
* There was a little confusion with the eGift card part. We had chosen that as our method of payment, but there wasn’t any place to enter the number. I called customer service and the let me know that I could show the number at the restaurant when I paid. That could have been a bit clearer on the website.
