put on a sweater!

September 25, 2011 by Wendy S

“Put on a sweater” was always my mom’s reply to “Mom, it’s cold in here!”

“Turn off the lights”
“Who left the TV on?”
“Why is the computer running?”

Energy consumption was always on my Mom’s mind.  As a kid, I thought she was nagging so I’m sure my kids think I’m nagging.  You’ll hear me say many of the same things today.

Mom Central Canada has connected me with another environmentally conscious project, that I am very happy to be participation in.

“Do Something Little, Help Something Big”

Make your community nicer and greener with a positive act.

Energizer Canada and Evergreen are working together on their “Do Something Little, Help Something Big” initiative in which Energizer is proud tocontribute $100,000 to Evergreen to make cities more liveable.

Evergreen is a not-for-profit organization that is committed to making Canadian cities greater and more liveable… creating a more sustainable future for all of us.

You can help too! I did!

It’s really amazing how easy it is to make a difference to the environment.  By making a pledge to help the environment, Energizer will donate an additional $1 to Evergreen.

I pledged to

  1. Donate to a food drive or local food bank.
  2. Program the thermostat for night and day temperatures to use energy more efficiently.
  3. Do my laundry during off-peak hours.
  4. Smile or say a kind word to create more positive energy around me.
  5. Turn down the thermostat and put on a sweater.

My mom would be so proud!

Please make your pledge today!
