flying solo: I miss my teammate

January 9, 2012 by Wendy S

“You don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone.”
~ Cinderella

Oh, these words could not be more true.  This might be slight exaggeration, but it’s my blog so there.

He’s not gone forever and he is coming back.

Right now, BigDaddy is in Detroit having the most amazing experience with Ford Canada at the North American International Auto Show. He wrote this — Heading to #NAIS in Detroit with Ford Canada

BigDaddy and I are a fantastic team and I miss him.

When he left on Sunday, I felt confident that two nights and three days without him would be easy.  Well, I need my teammate.  Sure, I’ll make it through these days without him, but running this house is so much easier with him.  I need back up when the girls decide that the kitchen is a good place for a WWE wresting match.  I like it when I can say, “go talk to your father about that” because I know he’ll give them the same answer I did.

Thank goodness for FaceTime because we’ve been able to chat a few times when he’s been at the hotel.  And the girls have been telling me things to text to him when I do get in touch with him.

I over heard Munchkin say, “Mommy’s not happy. She’s gonna text Daddy and he won’t be happy.”

My teammate will be home tomorrow but they have one more day of exciting things ahead of them.

I’m so excited for him.  He’s getting to see and do things that he’s never done before. He’s meeting new people and talking with the big wig executives of Ford.  Very, very cool.

So, go just on twitter and follow @bigdaddykreativ and the #FordNAIAS hashtag to see what they are all up to.  They’re doing some really amazing things.
