A relaxing experience at @DoveSpa

April 4, 2012 by Wendy S

A few weeks ago, Craig and I got to experience a facial at DoveSpa in Oakville.  We had arranged the appointment so that we’d be side-by-side while we were pampered.

When we arrived at DoveSpa we were taken back to the lounge to relax as we waited for the Skin Care Expert.  The room was white with gentle music playing.  I could have easily fallen asleep right there.

One at a time, Craig and I were each take for a Skin Talk diagnostic. During this consultation they measured the oil, water, elasticity and pigmentation levels in our skin, discussed the results and answered any questions we had.

The facial that we were getting allowed me to get a “treat” and I chose the eyebrow tidy.  Which for me was a first as I had never had my eyebrows done.  My other choices were Foot Softening Mask, Hand Softening Mask, Lip or Chin Wax.

After the consultation, we headed back into a private room. I got all comfy on a heated bed, with my feet slightly elevated.  The eyebrow tidy was done first.  And I’m glad it was because that would have been a nasty way to end a relaxing facial.

My Skin Care Expert, explained everything to me as we went through each step:  cleansing, exfoliation, intense hydration and muscle firming.

There were different techniques, creams, serums, warm wraps and massage used over the 75 minutes.

One of the techniques they used was a “gentle current that [drew] out impurities and cleanse the deeper layers of the skin, creating an effect that is six times more effective than a manual cleanse.”  This was a very neat feeling.

In the end, my face felt clean and refreshed and my body and mind were very relaxed.

Craig and I enjoyed our Green Tea and hot neck wraps in the lounge afterwards.

DoveSpa has their products for sale so that you can continue the cleansing techniques at home.  These are different than the regular Dove products found in regular stores.  Higher quality ingredients are used in the DoveSpa products and are focused towards different skin types.
