menu planning: healthy choices from #chickendotca

January 30, 2013 by Wendy S

2013 is my year for improvement — mind, body and spirit.

You’ve seen my Motivated Monday posts where I say how my week was and what i’m going to focus on for the up coming week.  I have noticed that eating the proper things is really affected by how prepared I am.  I know I need to start preparing a weekly menu before I go grocery shopping.

The Chicken Farmers of Canada, as I have said before, has an amazing list of recipes on their site.  There are a lot of healthy choices!  They even have sorted them into categories to make finding ideas easier.

I was looking through the High Fibre, Lower Sodium, Lower Fat and Lower Sugar recipes and found a few that I’m going to try out.

High Fibre

Chipotle Marmalade Chicken with Quinoa

Lower Sodium
Broccoli, Potato & Chicken Soup

Lower Fat
Broccoli, Chicken & Pesto Rotini Salad

Lower Sugar
Baked Spinach & Chicken Omelet

I love the Chicken Feeds!!

No, it’s not some crazy fad diet that the Chicken Farmers are promoting.
 It’s their blog
filled with information about chicken, cooking safety, nutrition, videos and so much more!

I’m really enjoying the articles in the Health and Fitness section.
