Saying that I love Reese’s peanut butter cups is an understatement.(And these are one of my biggest temptations)
Their combination of peanut butter and chocolate is amazing! And trust me, I have tried many other peanut butter and chocolate combos that try to be like Reese’s but they never measure up. Never.
However, even within the fine Reese’s family, there is a finite line where the peanut butter and chocolate scales are tipped, one way or the other.

The original Reese’s Peanut Butter cups are perfect in every way. Okay, they were better a few years ago when they were bigger, but as far as the peanut butter to chocolate ratio, they are perfect.

The Reese’s Miniatures come in a close second. However, having to unwrap each one before eating it is a pain.

Reese’s minis might have solved the “too much wrapper” issue, but the ratio of peanut butter to chocolate is off. I think there is too much chocolate. Not much they can do about that because less chocolate would make them harder to ship in the package that they come in.

If you go the other way, Reese’s Big Cup is waaaaay too much peanut butter!
Since I have never tried them (probably because I have never seen them), the 1lb Peanut Butter cups have to be insanely big. 2 cups at a 1/2 pound each? Crazy. Here’s more info at candyblog.net.
Last, but definitely not least, are Reese’s Pieces. I think they are perfect in every way…crunchy candy outside with just the right amount of chocoate and, the pièce de résistance, the yummy peanut butter in middle.

Now they did go and make other peanut butter cups with other kinds of chocolate. I’m sure some people might like these, but why mess with perfection??
Do you think I put too much thought into this??
Do you have a favourite candy??
It’s funny that I feel I have to put a disclaimer on this.
