Wendy (also known as @mapsgirl) is a mom to two daughters, Rachel and Lauren. They are the inspiration of this blog.
This blog has grown from a personal journal to a family-oriented blog focusing on topics that are of importance to parents and their children.
Wendy attended ShesConnected 2012 in Toronto as an Ambassador for the Chicken Famers of Canada. She also attended SheConnected 2011 and BlissDomCanada 2010 and 2011.
Child passenger safety is a passion of Wendy’s. Since 2008, Wendy is a Child Passenger Safety Technician and has had the opportunity to work with several Ontario police services and EMS teams, as a car seat technician.
Writing her blog and volunteering in the community happens when she’s not working full time as a cartographer for a municipality.
Now she can’t do this alone — Craig, her amazing husband since 2002, would do anything for his family. Craig is the Senior Community Manager for Ford Canada. You can follow him at @bigdaddykreativ or @FordCraigSilva
Storm is aptly named. When we got her she was a tiny ball of fluff with cute floppy ears. Now she has the ability to go from sleeping to 1000 km/hr in a split second! She came to live with us in January 2017 when she was only 8 weeks old.
Our first fur-baby, Dakota, is no longer with us. She passed away January 2016. She came to live with us in October 2002. She was only 4 months old but spent most of those 4 months tied to a tree in someone’s backyard. She lived to be 13 1/2 years old.
