staring at a blank page

September 23, 2011 by Wendy S

I sit here staring at a blank page.  I know I should write more. I’m sure there is stuff in my head that I want to write about.  But I sit here staring at a blank page.  Where is my inspiration?

There will be posts about our basement.

I could write about back to school…but the kids are doing great and nothing overly exciting is going on.  Munchkin seems to be paying attention better this year as she is able to answer the question “what did you do today?” and is generally excited about answering.  Peanut comes home with new paintings every day.  This is her dream!

Activities are slowing starting. Brownies is Mondays and they have had one meeting.  She learned her Brownie promise and law and sang some songs.  Choir practices have started.  And Peanut was allowed to start before she is 5 because of the video of her I posted on YouTube.  The choir director saw it and thinks she’ll do okay! :Swimming doesn’t start until October.

BigDaddy has been extremely busy since speaking at the 140 Characters Conference last week!  Which is awesome!  Thank you to everyone!

Hm….maybe I need to do this more often.  Just stare at a blank page and write.  I think I have some ideas for some posts for next week. Thanks for listening to be blab.

What do you do to find the motivation?  How do you keep track of what you want to write about?

do not call list

September 30, 2008 by Wendy S

It’s about time that Canada did something to help us get the annoying telemarketers to stop calling.

So fellow Canadians, you can regisiter here, to lessen the number of annoying phone calls you get.

However, it’s 8:30am…8 1/2 hours after you could start registering, and the site is already down.  You’d think they would have planned better for this.  Whatever.

I did say “lessen”…there are some exemptions (of course *rolls eyes*):

There are certain kinds of telemarketing calls and faxes that are exempt from the National DNCL, including those made by or on behalf of:

  • registered charities seeking donations
  • newspapers looking for subscriptions
  • political parties and their candidates, and
  • companies with whom you have an existing commercial relationship; for example, if you have done business with a company in the previous 18 months––such as a carpet-cleaning company––that company can call you.

Telemarketers making exempt calls must maintain their own do not call lists. If you do not want to be called by these telemarketers, you can ask to be put on their do not call lists. They are obliged to do so within 31 days.

I think that getting rid of any annoying callers would be great!  Just remember to tell those that are expemt to “take you off their list” and they’ll have to…it’s the law!

stepping down

May 29, 2008 by Wendy S

With the good weather before us, and work being so busy, I don’t have time to blog everyday…or every month as the case may be. I no longer will be trying to keep up with the “one blog post per day” requirements of Blog365.

I tried.
