Disney Classics Box Set features 94 of your favourite Disney songs! Buy yours today!

November 14, 2013 by Wendy S

After spending time at Walt Disney World last week, I know that the girls will want this amazing

FOUR-VOLUME COLLECTION,DISNEY CLASSICS BOX SET

From the press release: The box set was compiled by Disney Music Group’s resident music historian and Grammy®-winning producer, Randy Thornton. Thornton said, “From the Studio’s earliest days, music has always been an integral part of the Disney creative process. But when “Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf” debuted in 1933, it began a musical legacy that remains unmatched to this day – probably the most recognizable and beloved song catalog in the world. Even though the musical styles range from inspiring ballads, novelty songs, folk, rock, to Broadway show-tunes, Disney Music is a genre in and of itself.”

Special bonus for box set purchasers:  The all-new “Disney Classics Medley” (featuring songs from “The Lion King,” “Aladdin,” “Pocahontas,” “The Little Mermaid” and “Beauty and the Beast”) performed by YouTube a capella sensations Alex G and Peter Hollens, will be available as a free download when the box set is pre-ordered at iTunes and Amazon. With over a combined 100+ million views, Alex G and Peter perform covers of songs using only the sounds of their voices. The music video debuted on Alex G’s YouTube Channel, garnering over 568,000 views in less than 24 hours, http://youtu.be/GDEFuG30FYg .

The Disney Classics box set will be available wherever music is sold on November 12, 2013.

For more information on Walt Disney Records’ releases, please visit Disney.com/music, become a fan at Facebook.com/disneymusic or follow us at Twitter.com/disneymusic.

The box set includes 4 discs of 94 original recordings.
A list of all songs can be seen here!

runDisney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend – November 8th and 9th #SilvaDisneyAdventure

November 2, 2013 by Wendy S

When I was first approached about attending the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, my reaction was “Half Marathon?!? Really?”

But there is so much more to the Weekend than just the Half Marathon.

http://www.rundisney.com/

Starting on Friday, Disney hosts a Health & Fitness Expo where you can “check out the newest Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend Merchandise, and get a sneak peek at the latest in apparel and fitness equipment. The Expo features a Speaker Series that includes appearances by celebrity runners and seminars on training, racing, and nutrition.”

Friday night, is the Pre-Race Taste at the Lights, Motors, Action!® Extreme Stunt Show®.  “his event is a great way to relax and be entertained before your big race.”

Saturday morning, the running begins with the Mickey’s Jingle Jungle 5K at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. (This is the race I will be running.) “It’s the perfect family adventure and a great warm up to the Half Marathon! You’ll run past amazing sites, scenery, and some exotic animals as you follow the course that winds its way through the park. And there’ll be plenty of extra fun along the way with special Disney entertainment. Beginners, intermediates, and even experienced runners are all invited to join the fun.”

There are even races for Kids! Children 13 and under are invited to participate in the runDisney Kids Races taking place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Track & Field Complex on Saturday, November 9, during the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend. Each runner who participates will go home with their very own Finisher Medallion! Encourage your youngster to join the fun and sign up for any of the Kids Dashes or the One Mile Run. There’s even a Diaper Dash for crawlers! “
The big Half Marathon, takes place Saturday Night.  The “half marathon will take you through three breathtakingly beautiful, night-lit Disney theme parks with Disney entertainment on hand to delight and entertain you on your star-lit run. Then top your evening run off at our exclusive Finish Line Party at the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival where you’ll enjoy mouthwatering food and fabulous wines.”
The Finish Line Party is also open to spectators and other race runners, they just have to purchase a separate ticket. The Party takes place at the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival.  This “is an autumn special event that transforms Epcot® into a food and wine lover’s paradise with specialty food items, culinary events, wine seminars and live musical entertainment. More than 25 international marketplace kiosks are serving up tapas-sized portions of regional specialties. Explore countries on 6 continents through their most mouthwatering foods and beverages!”

Watch out Mickey!! Here we come!! #SilvaDisneyAdventure

November 1, 2013 by Wendy S

Tuesday was the night that we could finally tell the girls that we’re going to Disney World next week!

For the last few weeks, we’ve been working on the details for our family to go to Disney World!! It has been so hard to keep the secret, because I knew how excited they would be.

I got invited to participate in Run Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend.  On Saturday, I will be running the Mickey Jingle Jungle 5K.  I’m really pumped!  All the hard work that I’ve been doing at the gym is going to be put to the test.

Once we got the confirmation that we were going, we had to come up with a great way to tell the girls. We looked at so many website to try to come up with an idea.  Then it hit is us…a map!  Of course!!

I did my thing….

And Craig did his thing….

And then came the big reveal!!

I love how Lauren just keeps bouncing…she’s so excited!  Rachel is a bit more laid back, but I can assure you that she’s just as excited!
Craig wrote a post from his point of view — read it here!
